Welcome to another most worn yearly blog post! Usually I wait until early January to officially write about my most worn dresses of the year, but unfortunately this festive season I have come down with covid (again) so I figured it was incredibly unlikley that I'll be wearing anything other than pyjamas for the rest of the year.
Last year I had a three way tie for most worn, but this year has a clear winner in first place! To make the post more fun to write though, I'm including the runners up too.
And the winner is...
Give a big round of applause for this years winner! Easily one of my favourite dresses in my entire wardrobe, and I only accquired it this year! It's so cute, it's so comfy and it goes with everything. What's not to love? I just realised, I have put these coords in totally the wrong order- the first one is supposed to be the one with the black and white coat! I made this coord inspired by an adorable 90s Pound Piggie I found in a charity shop recently. The piggie was black and white (hence the coat) and, of course, I just had to use my plush pig bag! Black, white and pink is one of my all time favourite colour combos, so I think the heart dress looks great in this colour scheme, and I love the mix of patterns. I wore this outfit to play board games with friends. The second outfit (accidentally the third in this line up) was inspired by Hazbin Hotel's Angel Dust. I had just finished watching the series with my girlfriend and we became obsessed with it. Angel Dust is my favourite. The heart shape of the dress is reminiscent of his chest fluff and the heart mark on the back of his head. The boots are similar to the one he wears. I think he would approve of this coord- I even drew him wearing it! The next outfit (first in the line up) I was still super into Hazbin and decided to wear the dress again, this time to a meet. I put gems under my eyes to echo the marks / spider eyes Angel has. The fourth coord is Angel Dust again! I mostly rewore my first Angel Dust outfit, but with a white rectangle headdress this time. Me and my girlfriend did Hazbin Hotel karaoke together for our anniversary so, obviously, we had to wear coords based on our faves (she was Lucifer.) It was so much fun and honestly I think we nailed Stayed Gone. Finally, I wanted to wear this lovely Meta coat my girlfriend got me for my birthday a few years ago and thought the print would look fun with the striped dress. The toy print on my socks alos goes with the toys on the coat. I wore this to run some errands, but last minute changed into a warmer coat (alas, defeating my entire outfit concept) and thank goodness I did because it started snowing whilst I was out! It took my by surprise and I had to be so careful not to slip on my way home- I was not wearing suitable snow shoes and a walking stcik isn't great for snowy weather either! |
This lovely dress made last years most worn too! This year, I actually wore it 4 times, but I forgot to take a photo when I wore it to the theatre, oops! It's my go to piece when I want to be really super comfy. I wore it in January for the first meet of the year. It was a lovely time with friends, great food and yummy bubble tea! My main goal with this look was just to be comfy and warm, so it's a pretty simple coord. I like how this dress looks coorded with black, but then again I like most things coorded with black. For my second look I coorded it with black again, this time to do some drawing with friends. I needed to make sure everything I needed fitted in my bag, so I added some red to this look with my BTSSB fairy print bag. I don't think I had coorded this JSK with red before and I really like how it looks. It's also fun to have to classic patterns / prints in one coord. Oddly, I'm not sure I'd worn the blouse with the socks before either, which is just silly because the lace and colourway is the exact same! This might be my favourite look I've done with this JSK so far. The final look was for my first ever cat cafe visit, so I based this look around one of my OCs who loves cats! He has a jacket just like this, so I experimented with wearing it over a lolita JSK. Probably the silhouette looks better with the jacket unbuttoned, but it was a little chilly. It's unconventional, but I like how the fabric of the jacket and dress look together. |
Another second time most worn piece! I can't say enough good things about this dress and I still want to get it in lots more colours. It's another I reach for when I want to be really comfy. Funnily enough, it seems every Millefeuille coord this year has things layered over it to give the illusion of a skirt. It's really so much comfier than a skirt, I should get rid of all my skirt honestly, I find them so uncomfortable most of the time! The first coord is probably the cosiest. I love how this old sweatshirt looks with lolita, I think it's the perfect length and colour. I wore this coord for lunch with my mum. I wear this sweatshirt so often that I think I will have to make some myself in this exact cut, so I don't wear this one out! I liked the first coord I did so much that I just did a variation of it. It was much warmer, the height of summer, for this coord though, so I layered this amazing Meta Rabitch cutsew over it instead. I think the cutsew and the jelly shoes give it a summery look, compared to the cosier cold weather one before. I wore this look to meet a friend to collect a doll I'd just bought off them, but we ended up talking for so long outside that I burned horribly, even though we were in the shade the whole time! The final coord is another variation, but with the added (amazing) Barbie denim jacket by Silly Girl Club, for the colder weather. I wore this to go on a mission for a friend to collect a My Little Pony for her (missions success!) The Bang On The Door cat bag I've not used in a very long time. I tucked it away for years, as it reminded me of a time in my life when I was experiencing perticularly bad mental health. I found myself missing it, though, so I decided to bring it out, give it a wash, remove the loom band bracelets it had on and see if I could give it a fresh start. It was quite soothing to wash it, imagining all the bad energy draining out down the plug hole. I think I've now cleansed it of it's lingering bad vibes and we will have many more adventures together. |
Finally we come to the ever wonderful Poodle Parade. This one was missing from my wardrobe for a time, as it needed a bit of alteration. Now it's back from the tailors and ready for action once more. I've enjoyed coording it with little pops of red this year. The first and second coords are almsot identical, just with different socks and headwear, as I was staying with my girlfriend in the summer and only brought a small amount of lolita with me. I wore it once on an errand and once on a really lovely date. The third coord I wore to my local doll comm's Christmas meet. I'd been feeling a bit overwhelmed with the season and just wanted something easy to wear, so I opted for poodle parade. The black and white colour scheme makes it very easy to put together an outfit without having to think too much about it. I had recently bought this amazing Milk bag from a friend (ok, so my bag buying ban could be going better) and found myself wearing it with every outfit. Plus, I found my black, white and red colour scheme perfectly matched my doll, Rin, so of course I had to take my coord shot with her. Do you ever find yourself thinking, 'if I could just find the perfect bag, my whole life would just fall into place?' Well, now I have this red gingham Milk bag, maybe I have reached bag enlightenment and will never need another bag again! |
I hope you had a wonderful year and enjoyed seeing what I got up to in my wardrobe in 2024. I hope 2025 brings you happiness, love and all the frills you can handle! Take care! |
